Drawings

Most children really like drawing so we thought it would be a good idea to use drawings in our research with children.

Often we would talk to children about their drawings. Usually we asked the children to draw a picture about themselves and their life. Sometimes we asked the children to draw a picture of ‘home', ‘ Ireland ', or about their school holidays.

When we talked to the children we would record our conversations with the children. Like photographs, using drawings helped some children and young people who did not speak much English to tell us a little about themselves.
